SSH is stands for secure shell connection. It is a secure path between your local machine and the server. The server can be anything from a small single board computer like raspberry pi to big servers like aws instances or any cloud computers. It uses an encryption while communication which is only decoded either by the local computer or the server.

It creates a secure tunnel over a public network like internet which connects both nodes.

There are several ways to establish a ssh connection and it’s varies according to which OS you and your server is currently using.

Windows user

If you are a windows user then you have to download a tool called PuTTY which helps you to establish a secure connection with your linux server.

But if you have a windows Server then you need a software called Windows Remote Desktop to establish a ssh connection.

For Linux or Mac users

You can establish the ssh connection using the terminal. But the commands are different. So to start a ssh connection you have to run this command in your terminal if your server is a Linux mashine like raspberry pi

ssh -Y pi@<ip of your raspberry pi>

But if you have a windows Server then you need a software called Windows Remote Desktop to establish a ssh connection.
